Restoring a tired fence, and adding a three-part car gate access, plus a pedestrian access gate
PROJECT 01
This project was a challenge, primarily due to the limited space in the yard for parking a car and a very narrow access road. It was decided that a combination of outward-opening bespoke-designed and built bi-fold gates with a single inward-opening gate would give us a total width of 15ft (5m) access. Just enough to bring a car in and close behind.
A large section of the original fence was restored and treated to match the new gates. Large heavy-duty hinges were specified to minimise the overall weight of the sectional gates, so they could be moved with the lightest touch. We were able to reuse the existing posts; however, additional support was added to the top and ends to cope with the additional hanging forces. The gates were fabricated and installed on-site.
